My Favorite Things: Silver White Winters that Melt into Spring

Silver white winters will always have my heart, but this jar with over 45 pieces lives right on that edge where the snow starts to sparkle a little differently and you can feel green waking up underneath.

I built this one like a tiny thawed meadow in a bowl, all frosted pearls and clear crystal for the last dusting of snow, then flashes of bright leaf green, soft aqua, and pastel rainbow stones for the first wildflowers. The big pink crystal dragonfly is the moment everything tips into spring, wings spread over a tangle of vines and glitter like it just landed in the middle of the melt.

There is a thread of friendship woven through this jar too. One of my favorite pieces from my friend Mommasparrow is here in spirit, that leafy green ivy choker she once transformed into earrings for my apothecary jars. I leaned into the things I always reach for, bright greens, soft whites, silver sparkle, and that dreamy pastel rainbow that feels like light catching on melting icicles.

Tucked between the florals and dragonflies are little story beats, a vintage Avon girl on a swing because nothing says early spring like running outside to the swingset the second the ground is dry enough, a tiny hummingbird swooping in from Napier, and a Lucky Brand bracelet in turquoise and yellow that feels like sun on new grass. There is even a maybe Ralph Lauren double strand of pearls, because sometimes the melt comes with a little mystery.

This is one of my favorite things in jar form, a keepsake for anyone who loves that moment when winter finally softens and everything starts to glow again.
