My Favorite Things: Bright Copper Kettles and Warm Woolen Mittens

This is my cozy chalet fantasy in full jar form. Think copper kettles, mittens thrown over a chair, and that warm glow when you come in from the snow and your hands are still tingling.

For a long time, when silver felt too cool and gold felt too sharp on my skin, I reached for copper and bronze instead. Those warm metals were the first ones that ever felt like home for me, and even though I am more comfortable playing with gold and silver now, copper still feels like my soft place to land. I wear it, I decorate with it, and this jar leans into that love completely.

The vessel is a deep green glass candle holder I have had since the 90s, one of a pair that has followed me through several chapters of life, now turned into a tiny hearth for this story. Inside you will find a glowing copper and amber Y necklace, a wide etched cuff with concentric circles, mixed metal chains, beaded strands, and a handful of smaller accents that catch the light like embers. The greens, ambers, and bronzes together feel like forest and firelight sharing the same space.
